ARTIST PROFILE
Rachel Gardam is a New York City based photographer who recognizes the importance of documenting the lives of others. She has traveled extensively and photographed in more than twenty countries. She came to the field of Photojournalism with a BA in Photography and a minor in Sociology received from Marlboro College. Gardam’s interest in documentary soon lead her to do an internship with Mary Ellen Mark before enrolling in the Photojournalism/Documentary Studies Program at International Center of Photography. Her work at ICP focused on Autism, a developmental disorder affecting 1 in 88 children in the United States.
Fascinated by people Gardam spent a summer teaching photography workshops for Canon’s Photography in the Parks Program and now freelances for Bella Baby Photography a company dedicated to capturing the first few days of an infant’s life.
